Halloween Howl 2026 - Day 27

When black cats prowl and pumpkins gleam, may luck be yours this Halloween. The black cat on this ATC has really spooky eyes, as cats sometimes do. It is like they can see right through you. The background is patterned paper with a small orange doily and washi tape too. Another winner!
A deserted haunted house in the wild is on the card I created for today. The background is a gel print with stamping and a used dryer sheet for texture. Are you brave enough to go inside?

Halloween Howl 2026 - Day 26

The witch's cauldron is bubbling over. I wonder what concoction she has brewing this time? Maybe it is a love potion. The background is a gel print, with some embossing paste, stamping and gems. Lovely mixed media card for Day 26.
This witch is either very excited for Halloween or running scared from something. I'm not sure which it is. The background is a gel print with some stamping, thin washi tape for the 'ground' and a used dryer sheet again for texture.

Halloween Howl 2026 - Day 25

You're spooktacular and so is the ATC for Day 25! It is so detailed with so many tiny elements. The scarecrow does not seem to be able to do his job though. He is not frightening off the crows at all.
The card that I sent for today haunted house with a witch flying by on her broomstick. The background looks very textured due in part to the used dryer sheet but also from the layered gel print.

Halloween Howl 2026 - Day 24

Wow, today's card is fantastic! It is very detailed. From the painted and embossed background to the embossed Halloween ticket stapled on the top corner, it is a work of art. There is even white embossing to highlight the tree. Magnificent.
The ATC that I sent to my partner today features a scary witch with purple skin flying on her broomstick on Halloween night. I hope she stays away from my neighbourhood.

Halloween Howl 2026 - Day 23

Happy Boo Night to you too! The ghosts on this ATC were cut from vellum so they are translucent. What a great idea! I never thought of trying that. Sparkly embossing powder was used for the mouths, eyes and to outline their bodies. The little bat looks like he is enjoying some time with his friends.
The card I sent to my partner today has some 'velvet' ghosts and it looks like they might really be annoying that jack-o-lantern. He's just wishing they would come close enough to him to catch.

Halloween Howl 2026 - Day 22

People are scared of things that are different, very true. And people are also suspicious of people and things that do not conform with the 'normal' standards. The young girl on the ATC from my partner today looks like any number of young people I see when I am out and about. LOL What a super, cool background this card has too!
The card I sent to my partner for Day 22 has a collaged background of various papers topped with some Tim Holtz tissue paper. That wicked witch is brewing something up and I don't think it's chicken soup!

Halloween Howl 2026 - Day 21

For starters, the Day 21 ATC from my partner has a purple background. Purple is my favourite colour, even though surprisingly, I do not own very many purple clothes. I might have to change that. The silver embossed spider web looks so delicate just like a real spiders web. The multi-coloured bow and pearly enamel dots are perfect embellishments. The spider seems to think so as he/she is smiling.
The card that I made for my partner features a very unhappy ghost trapped in a mason jar. I'll bet he's sorry for being so curious when the jar was open. Someone managed to catch him by putting on the lid before he could escape.

Halloween Howl 2026 - Day 20

The month is flying by so fast! We are already at Day 20. The card I received from my partner today is so cute. 'Hello Dolly, my forever friend' is a delightful little thing. The painted background is phenomenal.
A nosy little ghost got too close to the hot tea and fell in as depicted on the card I made for today. He better be more careful next time.

Halloween Howl 2026 - Day 19

"You keep me in stitches." What a great comic line from a creature stitched together from the parts of several different people. He should audition for Yuk Yuk's. (That's a comedy club for those who don't know.) This is a fabulous card from my partner for Day 19.
The card I sent to my partner for today features a spooky tree with an owl glaring straight at you, and two small ghosts flying around the branches. The background is another one of those one I wish I could re-create. I'll keep trying.

Halloween Howl 2026 - Day 18

A trio of monsters are having a great time at the party as showcased on today's ATC from my partner. They sure look like they are having a lot of fun! I want to go to that party.
A trio of witches are really whooping it up on the card that I sent for Day 18. I used one of my favourite backgrounds for this ATC. I hope I can duplicate the process to create more similar backgrounds for next year.

Halloween Howl 2026 - Day 17

A little witch is waving her wand and creating Halloween magic on the card from my partner for Day 17. The starry night background is perfect for this ATC. How I wish that I had the patience to colour images like that. That witch is so adorable!
Count Dracula is out sneaking around looking for Halloween treats on the card I sent to my partner for today. I wish you could all feel the texture the used dryer sheets give to my ATCs. The 'ground' he stands on is created using a Sharpie marker.

Halloween Howl 2026 - Day 16

Something wicked this way comes! What is it this time? It's just some silly ghosts and a couple of black cats hiding in the shadows. Another great ATC from my partner for Day 16. Thank you.
The card I sent to my partner for Day 16 has another cute Halloween gnome with a purple witch hat and carrying a black cat. I really like those seasonal gnome dies. I think I have some for Christmas too.

Halloween Howl 2026 - Day15

Super cute doggie Halloween for todays' ATC. They are all dressed up and ready to party, and no doubt, looking for treats. They are so adorable in their costumes. I imagine dogs are more willing to let you dress them up than cats are. LOL
The card that I sent to my partner today is 'spooktacular'. Three little ghosts are joyfully frolicking on Halloween night. They look like they are having fun, don't they?

Halloween Howl 2026 - Day 14

I don't know how I forgot to post last night but I did, so this is post number two for today. The Frankenstein most is larger than life on the ATC for Day 14. I don't know how she created that bumpy background, is it texture paste or did the paper come like that. I can't figure it out.
The trick or treaters are out on the card I created for Day 14. It looks like they are having lots of fun. I remember going out when I was a child and then with my own children. Always a great night.

Halloween Howl 2026 - Day 13

Day 13 has lots of pumpkins and a cute little cat! The card also features orange metallic ribbon with black on the edges, along with some teeny tiny glittery stars. It's a very happy card. I love it.
The ATC I sent to my partner for day 13 has a very spooky looking tree with a ghost and bat flying by. I actually really like this background I made. It looks like it has depth when it is just paint and stamping, very one dimensional.

Halloween Howl 2026 - Day 12

Another winner from my partner today! There are so many elements to the day 12 ATC. She included paint, silver texture paste, gold thread and tiny gems. It's a miniature work of art. Why am I so afraid to experiment like that? The results are phenomenal.
My card to her today did branch out a bit with painted drywall tape in the background, stamping and die cutting. But I always seem to fall back to my old, trusted techniques. I hope she is not disappointed with the ATCs this year.

Halloween Howl 2026 - Day 11

The background for Day 11 consists of paint, stamping, embossing and faux stitiches made with a marker. I love the creativity of my partner! I really must broaden my horizons and start experimenting with different techniques.
The ATC that I made for her today has a Halloween gnome complete with a witches hat and pumpkins. I enjoy using these multi-piece die sets and seeing them come to life as I assemble them.

Halloween Howl 2026 - Day 10

No trick or treater could ever be sweeter! How true is that? This little witch is so cute! The pastel background is perfect for this ATC for Day 10. The delicate lace added to the top finishes it off nicely.
The card that I created for Day 10 has a creepy ghost hanging around outside the window. The tiny pumpkin on the window sill is keeping him out. We sure don't want that ghost inside!

Halloween Howl 2026 - Day 9

Cute card for today, a happy jack-o-lantern with a scaredy cat hiding behind him. My partner used a lot of embossing this year. I will have to pull out my embossing powders and heat gun again. Very subtle, silver stars on this one, not sure you can see them in the photo. I really like this ATC!
The card I sent for today has scary cat on a white picket fence. There are jack-o-lanterns on the ground in front and a witch flying past the moon. Interesting that we both had pumpkins and cats on the cards we created for Day 9.

Halloween Howl 2026 - Day 8

Another 'scary' clown on the ATC my partner sent for me today. What a great stamp and die set she found to use on this years' cards! Options for craft related products in Canada are so fewer than can be found in the U.S. It's always been like that but these days shopping cross border is cost prohibitive. Between the currency exchange, the shipping fees and duty charges it's just not worth it most of the time. But I digress...this is a great card highlighting my partners' colouring skills.
I tried something a bit different on the card I sent to her for Day 8. I had some white reflective tape purchased for another purpose and thought it might make cool, spooky, glow in the dark ghosts. I stuck some down on cardstock, then diecut the ghosts for this card. I have a Tim Holtz stamp set of Halloween words and phrases that I used too.

Halloween Howl 2026 - Day 7

I know that some people are afraid of clowns and I don't want to belittle their fears. I am not, however, and really love the scary clown jack-in-the-box ATC sent to me by my partner for day 7. It's another great stamped and coloured image. The background is two different patterned papers with some stamping and heat embossing and tiny stars. Love it!
For the card that I sent for today, you will see a stamped and diecut pumpkin on drywall tape painted black. The background is painted and stamped with a used dryer sheet on top for texture (like all my cards).

Halloween Howl 2026 - Day 6

I love owls! And todays' ATC features an adorable owl perched in a tree. You cannot see in the photo but the branches are sparkly. A variety of patterned papers create a really interesting, collaged background.
The card to my partner has a frog witch on a pumpkin, broom and all. I love this die set! Sometimes he holds a broom, sometimes a wand, and who knows what will be next. I've even used this die set to make a Christmas frog with a red Santa hat complete with pom pom sitting on a big present.

Halloween Howl 2026 - Day 5

For Day 5, there is another Little Shop of Horrors card. My partner used paint and stencils to create the background. The man-eating plant has captured its' prey today! Not a great day for that guy. LOL
The card from me to my partner features a friendly witch offering broom rides for 25 cents. Would you take her up on the offer? I'm not sure I would. It doesn't look like the safest mode of transportation.

Halloween Howl 2026 - Day 4

Wow, I am in awe of my partners' colouring skills. She has just the right amount of shading and colour. Today's card is a great example. The Little House of Horrors comes alive!
The card that I made for her today was supposed to be number 6 but I guess I scanned them backwards. I'm glad I waited until she sent me a pic or I would have posted the wrong one. Here it is, a really scary ghost that I would not like haunting my house.

Halloween Howl, 2026 - Day 3

Another great card! My partner must have the co-ordinating dies to go with those new stamps she got. I can't imagine I would be able to cut around them as perfectly as the running mummy. Fussy cutting is another of my least favourite things to do. Those tiny bat diecuts are smaller than any of my dies. I must ask her where she purchased them.
Here is the card I sent to my partner for October 3rd. Tomorrow I won't have to wait for her to send my a photo of the cards I made, as I remembered to scan the remaining cards before sending them out.
