Focusing on Life - Week 39

'Get snap happy!
Give us your best shot.'

There was not time (or energy) to get out and take any new photos this week. I was getting ready for yet another event this weekend. Thankfully, I will get a bit of a break after that.

I took this photo a couple of years ago and it has always been a favourite of mine. It was taken when I was still able to go for short walks. For me, it is representative of life's journey; the present right in front of us and the future far ahead and unseen.

If you are looking for an amusing shot, this one is close to the top of the list. They were doing construction on my street last year. When I came home one evening, there was a port-a-potty for the crew installed on the end of my driveway! Luckily, my car is small enough that I could still get in. My friends thought it was quite funny, although I'm not sure how impressed they were with the idea of using it.. *smile*

Check out the 'best shots' of the other participants below...

  1. Great shots Bonnie, one for the reflective and another that really makes you wonder. Geez, it's a good thing you don't have a big ol SUV

  2. You should have charged a nickel an entry. It WAS on your property. The train track pic is wonderful and your description very apt.

    1. I'm not a huge fan of port-o-potties either and was not amused to find it on my driveway but it makes a great story to tell now. *smile*

  6. Great railroad track photo - perfect perspective. I just love how it does make you wonder what lies up ahead,....makes you think! Love the port-o-potty,.....that's not something you see in your neighbor's (or you own) driveway everyday! ;-)

  8. Oh, the train track photo is very cool. I like that it has so much meaning for you. And the porta potty...you have no idea how mad I would have been to find that in my driveway. I would have been calling somebody. I don't usually get fired up, but something like that would definitely have me taking action. I'm so glad you have such good humor to have let it slide!

    1. The workers will still in the area when I go home, so after taking the photo (who would believe me otherwise?) I spoke with the supervisor on site and asked him to remove it from my driveway. He had it gone within 10 minutes. *smile*
